ABOUT PERIOD PROMISE:
Periods are a fact of life. Menstruation products are a basic necessity, but if you’re living in poverty – or vulnerable in other ways – access to tampons, pads, cups or menstrual underwear can be challenging. There’s often a silence around periods and period poverty – it’s a matter of health, dignity and social isolation that we simply can’t ignore. The Period Promise campaign by UWHH mobilizes local citizens to be a part of the solution – getting products into the hands of those who need them most, and advocating for change in the community.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Volunteers are asked to create period promise kits that UWHH will distribute to agencies and individuals in need. Through our Period Promise initiative we work with a number or local organizations and groups to ensure much needed products get into the hands of people who need them. Each kit should contain a variety of products, please pack as many kits as you are comfortable with. The below supplies are just a guide, please feel free to include items that you personally find useful for stress relief.
